Producer’s Note
Manon Lescaut was transferred primarily from British LP pressings. The momentary pitch
fluctuation that occurs about two minutes into Track 16 on CD 1 is present on RCA’s
original master tape and on every subsequent edition of the recording. The arias were
transferred from American LP pressings, while the Villa—Lobos work (which makes its CD
debut here) was taken from its original 45 rpm release. The fade—out at the end of the
Bachianas is present on the original recording
